About the scholarship

The MK Sowden Foundation Scholarship (MK Sowden Scholarship) was founded upon the belief that any motivated student should have the opportunity to further their education free of the worry of financial burden. The MK Sowden Scholarship aims to enrich youth and adult development through educational opportunities for tertiary education and vocational training.

Awards are available for students pursuing a higher education degree or vocational school in the state of Texas, and are renewable on an annual basis, dependent on applicants maintaining a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).

The MK Sowden Scholarship program provides individual grants directly to educational institutions, covering all qualified education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, and room and board, to support students in achieving their academic and vocational training goals.

Who it helps

The MK Sowden Foundation Scholarship attracts candidates in the state of Texas who demonstrate a compelling desire to pursue tertiary education or vocational training, but who are limited by financial need.

These students are hardworking and determined individuals who are focused on making positive contributions to their communities. The MK Sowden Scholarship helps make this possible!

We invite all eligible students to apply and join us in our mission to empower the next generation through education.  We look forward to working with our scholarship recipients to help them achieve their goals and make a positive impact in their communities.
